Description: Short perennial herb with horizontal tuberous roots which often forms patches of plants in one area. Blunt arrow-shaped leaves appear in the spring. The leaves are shiny bright green often with various dark spots. The flowers are small and spiked and enfolded in a purple spotted and streaked spathe. The fruiting spike produces bright orange red berries. Cuchoo Pint can be found in woodlan, hedge bottoms, and ditch-banks. It flowers April - May. |
